Connect Program participants complete the semester with a media project in which they use raw footage and video editing tutorials, provided by Soliya, to produce their own short news segment on a current event.
All students have access to the same footage and resources, but their news reports often present very different perspectives on the same event, providing an opportunity to reflect on editorial decision-making and the influence of media on cross-cultural relations. The project also teaches practical media production skills.
