Thank you for being part of the Soliya community. As you enter this space, we want to be transparent about expectations and rules of engagement. 

Soliya’s vision is a pluralistic world where diversity is embraced and conflicts are transformed into opportunities for collaboration and collective learning. Our mission is to prepare rising generations to approach differences constructively and lead with empathy, in order to thrive in an interconnected world.

The Soliya Community Space is therefore a safe, global, diverse and inclusive space where we encourage honest, respectful and constructive engagement that supports learning and a better understanding of differences. The following rules of engagement apply to both public streams and private messaging.

In this space, we encourage you to: 

• Share personal stories that shed light on important experiences, that impact who you are

• Ask questions to seek greater understanding of others

• Post external resources that are instructive and, as much as possible, balanced

• Exchange with others, maintaining the same dialogue principles upheld in live sessions

However, we will not accept content or behavior that:

• Disrespects, threatens or is hateful towards a person or group of persons

• Attacks or insults someone’s values, beliefs, opinions, race, ethnicity, religion, gender…

• Is indecent (for instance, pornography, violence, or derogatory speech). 

• Stalks or harasses someone (for instance through persistent messaging to someone or commenting on their appearance or asking for personal information not for the purpose of community building)

Note that posting external content will be encouraged if the content is relevant to the community, such as exchange or educational opportunities, funding opportunities, volunteering opportunities, research opportunities, etc. However, advertisements for products, services or companies that are irrelevant to the community will be discouraged.

We understand that mistakes can happen, and you may not mean to violate the community guidelines. If your content is in breach of these guidelines, we will reach out to you to discuss the breach and corrective measures. Depending on the nature of the breach and the content, it may be removed without further notice.

If you think a message or post violates our Community Guidelines and would like to bring it to our attention, please report your concern here. We will review the content, and take appropriate steps as necessary.
