What is Soliya’s Community of Practice?
What began years ago with informal gatherings for facilitators to connect and discuss what was happening in the dialogue spaces has grown into a robust Community of Practice portfolio designed to support dialogue practitioners throughout and beyond their Soliya journey. As our facilitator community expanded, so did our understanding of what practitioners need to thrive. We recognized that facilitating dialogue across differences requires continued opportunities to connect, practice, reflect, and learn together.
The evolution of our Community of Practice has been intentional. Guided by participant feedback, community surveys, and years of experience, we have continually created programming that responds to the needs and interests of our global facilitator network.
Today, the Community of Practice is a dynamic portfolio of opportunities built around three interconnected areas: Connection, Practice, and Learning.
Connection
Our Community of Practice creates spaces for facilitators from around the world to build relationships, exchange knowledge, learn from one another, and remain connected to a global community committed to dialogue across differences.
Practice
Our practice-based offerings provide opportunities for facilitators to experiment with dialogue tools, receive feedback, reflect, and engage in dialogue themselves.
Learning
The global context is constantly evolving, and so are the challenges we encounter as practitioners. Through workshops, community dialogues, practice labs, and other learning opportunities, facilitators continue expanding their skills.
The impact of our Community of Practice is clear. In a recent survey, active community members reported greater confidence engaging constructively across differences than less-active facilitators. The greatest differences were in areas such as fostering safe and inclusive dialogue spaces, navigating conflict, and addressing power dynamics—core competencies for dialogue practitioners.
The practices facilitators develop through the Community of Practice do not remain within Soliya programs. They travel with them into classrooms, organizations, workplaces, and communities around the world. 77% of survey respondents agreed that being part of Soliya influenced their ability to engage in and navigate difficult conversations.
Why join the Community of Practice?
The quality of the spaces we create for others therefore depends on our own willingness to lean into challenges and uncomfortable moments with curiosity, allowing us to learn through these experiences.
By investing in Community of Practice programming, we are investing not only in the growth of our global network of practitioners, but also shaping future outcomes in our broader communities where dialogue, empathy, and connection are needed now more than ever.
We hope you’ll soon join us or continue your growth if you're already part of the community!
